micromouse Micromouse is a competition for autonomous vehicles designed to get to the centre of a micromouse maze in the shortest possible time. Mice race against the clock to get from the outside to the centre of a square micromouse maze.
A Micromouse is a self-contained fully autonomous mobile robot, capable of transporting itself to the centre of an unknown arbitrary two-dimensional maze. The robot must find its way to the centre of the maze simply to return again and again in increasingly more courageous attempts in order to ascertain the fastest run time. The micromouse maze is built of 5cm high walls in an 18cm grid, containing 256 cells, so a full-size micromouse maze is almost 3 meters square.
In order to achieve this several factors must be addressed; motion control, spatial awareness, collision avoidance, intelligence and precise chassis design.
