Recipient of H. D. GOVINDRAJ MEMORIAL award for the best research paper for the paper entitled "Three dimensional heat transfer modeling of laser beam welding using adaptive volumetric heat source and GA based optimization of absorption coefficient - S. Bag and A. De (2008) 139 - 145, at the International Conference on Welding (IIW IC - 2008) , organized by Indian Institute of Welding (IIW) in association with International Institute of Welding, 8th - 9th January'2008, Chennai, INDIA.
