Manufacturing Practice Laboratory (ME 213) is a laboratory-cum-practical course for 2nd Year UG and DD Mechanical Engineering students and held at N2 BAY (Machine Shop) of central workshop in Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT Bombay. This course runs in the SPRING SEMESTER. The syllabus and references for this course are as follows.

Syllabus

Sand Casting Process Flow and Equipment, Molding, Core Making, Melting, Poring and fettling; Gas, Arc and Resistance welding equipments; Metal forming dies and tools, General purpose machine tools : lathe, milling, drilling, etc.; Semi-automatic and automatic machines. Manufacturing and fitting of a machine subassembly according to given specification by groups of students.
