From the International/Domestic Airport:

The most convenient option to any of the destinations from the international/domestic airport is to hire a pre-paid taxi from the pre-paid taxi counter while you are exiting the terminal building. The person at the counter will hand you a coupon with the taxi registration number written on it. The coupon should be handed over to the taxi driver at the end of the journey.

Typical fares to the following destinations are:
 

IIT Bombay, Powai:
Rs. 250 from the domestic airport, Rs. 200 from the international airport.
 

NPCIL, Anushaktinagar:
Rs. 350 from the domestic airport, Rs. 300 from the international airport.
 

Tunga Hotel, Vashi:
Rs. 550 from the domestic airport, Rs. 500 from the international airport.
 

K-stars Hotel, CBD Belapur:
Rs. 650 from the domestic airport, Rs. 600 from the international airport
 

Trains:


There are two main lines for long-distance trains: the Central line and the Western line.

The main stations for getting down on the Central line are: Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) or Dadar or Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Kurla (LTT) or Thane.

The main stations for getting down on the Western line are: Bandra Terminus (BDTS) or Dadar or Bombay Central Terminus (BCT).

Following are recommended stations for getting down:

For people with destination IIT Bombay:
Central line: Thane or Lokamanya Tilak Terminus (Kurla) or Dadar.
Western line: Bandra Terminus or Dadar.

For people with destination NPCIL, Anushaktinagar:
Central line: Lokamanya Tilak Terminus (Kurla) or Dadar or CST.
Western line: Bandra Terminus or Dadar.

For people with destination Tunga Hotel, Vashi:
Central line: Lokamanya Tilak Terminus (Kurla) or Dadar or CST.
Western line: Bandra Terminus or Dadar.

For people with destination K-Stars Hotel, CBD Belapur:
Central line: Lokamanya Tilak Terminus (Kurla) or Dadar or CST.
Western line: Bandra Terminus or Dadar.

Once you alight from the long-distance train, one option is to use a local train for further journey. There are three lines for local trains: the Central line, the Western line and the Harbour line. Please refer to the railway lines map to make yourself familiar with the lines and the stations.

The information on which stations a local train will stop will be shown on a display on the platform from which the train will leave. Please make sure to reach close to the exit door in a local train after the station just before your destination is passed - typically the local trains are crowded. Please ask the fellow passengers to find out which side the platform of your destination station will come.

Finally note that from any station that you get down from your long-distance train to any destination, one can directly travel by a taxicab, if it is the preferred mode of travel. Please demand to see the corrected fare card from the taxi driver to figure out the correct fare corresponding to the meter reading. The correct fare for an autorickshaw ride is equal to the meter reading multiplied by ten (10) minus one (1) e.g., if the autorickshaw meter says Rs. 6.7, the correct fare is Rs. 66.
