Challenging self-complacency is a crux of Radiance and it is in pursuance of excellence since 2007, maturing year by year. An extravaganza of events aimed at pushing the current levels of technical knowhow to limits of excellence by bringing together the best of the nation in all sectors of Maschinenbau.
Radiance, my dear strivers of knowledge, is the Annual Research & Technological Festival of Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT Bombay, nourished by Mechanical Engineering Association. Born in 2007, Radiance has been exposed to exponential growth and Radiance 2010 was one more feather on the hat of this legacy. At Radiance, we strongly believe that mutual dependency is a way of life and following the mathematical formula “Invention + Exploitation = Innovation”, we strive to convert invention done by our professors and students fixated to our labs into innovation by exploiting opportunities from who’s who in the industry. Consonant with that we bring you an arsenal of events that endeavors to explore every dimension and aspect of the science that we call "Mechanical Engineering”.
Few of the colors of our spectrum are:
1. To be an agent to help in technological growth of the country and the univesre.
2. To help converting invention into innovation by bringing the best of both worlds- Academia and
Industry on the same platform
3. To give the stage for ideas worth spreading
4. To prosper the enculturation of excellence in youth by facilitating congregation with most
fascinating thinkers and doers of mechanical engineering community of the country.
5. Offering the exhibitions of research work done by few of the best faculties in the country
spanned over all major areas of mechanical engineering from stress analysis to rapid product
development, and from robotics to nuclear reactor physics
6. And lastly nurturing self perpetuating and constant feeling of self improvement in every
individual by bringing out challenges and opportunities (one can convert one into another with
persistence) in mechanical engineering.
