Title of the Talk:
Industry–Academia Collaboration: A DRDO Perspective
Funding Opportunities, Thrust Research Areas and Our Case Studies

The talk will cover DRDO Technology Clusters, Aeronautics Research & Development Boards, DRDO's engagement with academia, broad research thrust areas, and the research proposal submission process. The talk will also highlight key aspects of missile development, including multidisciplinary modelling and simulation, mechanical/aerospace structures, vibration environments, case studies, and future research directions.

About the Speaker:
Dr. Prakash Chand Jain is an Outstanding Scientist / Scientist 'H' and Group Director at DRDL, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. An alumnus of IIT Roorkee, IIT Bombay, and a BOYSCAST Fellow from Pennsylvania State University, USA, he has contributed significantly to India's defence preparedness over three decades. The airframes of the BrahMos and Akash missiles (deployed during Operation Sindoor) were designed and developed by Dr. Jain and his team.

He has several research publications, patents, and technology transfers to his credit. He has served as AICTE-INAE Distinguished Visiting Professor at IIT Delhi. He is a Fellow of ASME, an Associate Fellow of AIAA, and a Fellow of the Telangana State Academy of Sciences. He is also a recipient of the Homi J. Bhabha National Award and the Dr. Biren Roy Space Science Award.
