Internal Combustion Engines and Combustion Laboratory

Description

The IC Engines and Combustion lab is run by three faculty members:

  1.  Prof. Sreedhara Sheshadri
  2.  Prof. Arindrajit Chowdhury
  3.  Prof. Neeraj Kumbhakarna

Following lab courses are conducted in the IC Engines and Combustion lab. The lab is equipped with all the necessary equipment required to conduct the courses.

  1.  IC Engines portion of ME 441 (Applied Thermodynamics Laboratory)
  2.  IC Engines portion of ME 657 (Thermal and Fluids Engineering Laboratory)

Research activitiies in the IC engines and Combustion lab are diverse and broadly fall under the categories listed below. These activites are carried out by undergraduate / MTech / PhD students and research staff working with the three faculty members listed above. More details about research can be found on the individual faculty's group web page.

  1.  Modelling turbulent flow involving combustion
  2.  Experimental and computational analysis of IC Engine and gas turbine combustion
  3.  Experimental and computational anslysis of Propellant combustion
  4.  Molecular modelling of high energy materials
