Join our team as a postdoctoral researcher. Candidates with a background in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Materials will be preferred.
We currently do not have openings for postdoc positions through the IITB Institute Postdoctoral Scheme. However, you are encouraged to apply through the National Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme. Please apply only if your PhD research falls in the following areas:
Candidates should have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field, with a strong publication record and demonstrated expertise in experimental or computational research.

We welcome M.Tech students from IIT Bombay and other institutes for thesis projects and research internships. Current project areas include:
Requirements: A strong background in mechanical engineering, materials science, or related fields; programming skills in MATLAB or Python are valuable. IIT Bombay students can directly approach Prof. Marla to discuss potential projects. External students should apply through their institution’s internship or exchange program coordinators. We offer internships throughout the year for motivated undergraduate and graduate students. Internships typically last 2–6 months and provide hands-on experience in experimental or computational research. You are also encouraged to apply through the IRCC Research Internship Scheme (link below). Current internship projects include:
